Eggs quality improvement imposes to find early indicators allowing a reliable prediction of the
developmental success. Molecular indicators seem particularly interesting as they give clues to understand
the causes and consequences of developmental impairments. Works on eggs quality are usually performed
having two categories of quality that are often arbitrarily chosen. The present work aims at determining egg
quality clusters according to their developmental success using 12 parameters characterizing the embryonic
survival and deformities occurrence and the hatching period in the Eurasian perch. A statistical analysis
allowed defining four clusters of spawn representing various classes of developmental impairments.
Secondly, a microarray analysis reveals specific transcriptomic profiles of the clusters according to their
quality. Such approach would allow focusing futures researches on phenotypes that are directly related to the
egg quality.
